Sivakumar born as பழனிச்சாமி Palanichamy on 26 April 1939 is an renowned and acclaimed Tamil cinema artist and veteran film actor. He is popular in the cinema industry and Tamil movie audiences alike for his versatility in his acting skills and for his wide array of character roles that he portrayed onscreen. His penchant for artistic drawing is also well known. He is a disciplinarian and a complete teetoller in theTamil Cinema Industry throughout his film career. He is also a strict vegetarian and also a very good yoga exponent for a long time.
He has starred in the role of leading man and character artist in many famous Tamil movies such as Kandan Karunai, Thunivae Thozhan and Uyarndha Manidhan. He received a life-time-achievement award for his contribution to the field of Cinema and in particular Tamil moviedom at the 55th annual Filmfare awards.
He is married to Lakshmi and the couple have three children with two sons and a daughter. He has the rare distinction in Indian cinema industry of not having gossiped romantically with any of the contemporary heroines.
